PowerTrigger PlugIn
From HomeSeer
[edit] PowerTrigger Plug-In
PowerTrigger is a plug-in by HomeSeer user TechnoCat. It sports the following features: Sure. I call it "PowerTrigger" and wrote it to fill in the gaps between what HomeSeer easily does and what I had done with my Adicon Leopard. So it has four major functions right now.
- Alerts - more complex scheduling triggers
- Can have a different time (or off) for Weekdays, Saturday, Sunday and Override[*]Override can be "Once" or until changed (because I would forget to set back to normal otherwise!
- Is used like any other Trigger on the Event Trigger tab
- Alerts can have a "duration", and whether you are in a specific alert-duration can be used as a condition for Events also.
- The state of the Alert (Normal/Enabled, Override, Off) can be set as an Event Action.
- X10 Sequences
- Written per request to provide additional functionality on limited remotes and safety-combinations for things you don't want accidentally triggered.
- Two X10 Device toggles (House/Device/on-or-off) plus a time interval define a Sequence, which you then name.
- Sequences are used as Triggers on the Event Trigger screen, just like any other trigger.
- Sequences do not interfere with any other X10 operation.
- Randomizer
- A better way of making the place look lived in - random mid-probability on, random 100% probabililty off.
- Randomizers are defined on the Action tab of the Event screen.
- Includes a time-window in which the action may occur, or "OFF" for "this minute"
- Includes a probability of firing, 100% to 10% in chunks. (Time="OFF" and 100% means it will run within a minute.)
- Can fire an event or turn on or off a device, or both.
- Impact is logged, so you can easily determine what it thought it was doing.
- SmartTimers
- I wrote this to improve the motion detector lighting controls.
- Defined on the Action tab of Events
- Define a Device-and-toggle (on or off) and/or an Event to fire.
- Can either "Set" to a new time (e.g. 5 minutes), or "Add" time (e.g. "add 2 minutes") or "Cancel" the timer by the Action.
- So if "Entry Light Senson" is detected, you can "SET" to 5 Minutes "Device: Entry Light"-"Off" each time.
- It will only fire 5 minutes after the final triggering of that. The timer is updated each time.
- Ability to write to the log easily as an Event Action without scripting.
All of this is done via drop-down or radio button from the web interface. No scripting is needed. The plug-in is written in C#. I don't currently use all the functionality at home, but the Alerts wake us up appropriately in the morning.
[edit] Getting PowerTrigger
PowerTrigger is in Alpha test currently, but has proven reliable so far. Features are being added. To get a copy, just PM TechnoCat with your email address.
Be sure to send him testing feedback. The test versions generally expire two months after being built, and he only sends out new versions automatically to people who sent input. (Anybody can request a new version though.)
