[edit] Overview
TouchPad was (further fixes and work are discontinued but still distributed) an optional interface for HomeSeer providing graphical views by room and function. It included three different look-and-feel configurations, from a simple one for low-power devices (although low-power is relative in this case) to a splashy themed interface.
[edit] Alternatives
Alternatives include:
[edit] Rover
Rover is a VBScript interface that runs well on very simple browsers such as on cell phones. Because it is open-source, it is easily customized. Additionally, Rover was designed to allow per-site customization in HTML snippets.
Rover is free.
[edit] Main Lobby
The Main Lobby Plug-In is Flash based and requires several components. Main Lobby can provide a very fancy interface.
[edit] Maestro
Maestro is a set of plug-ins that provide additional power and snazz up HomeSeer.
[edit] Trouble Shooting
TouchPad is known to be dependent on Internet Explorer. It runs, but has some issues with, Opera and Firefox. It may fail to run entirely on some cell phone browsers.
The solution for this is to use a different interface, as listed in the Alternatives section above.
